LITTLE RED ROOSTER STAGE

SATELLITE INN

Italian alt.country pioneers Satellite Inn struck lucky by signing, at the birth of the scene, to North Carolina label MoodFood, who’d just lost their golden goose Whiskeytown. Releasing their now sought-after debut Cold Morning Songs in 1999, and touring the length and breadth of the US, somewhere along the way the trail ran cold; members came and went before the band imploded in the early noughties, guitarist and songwriter Stiv Cantarelli touring with Bob Mould and eventually releasing a solo album with Richmond Fontaine as his backing band.

Fast forward to ’24, Stiv, looking to scratch that alt.country itch, hooked up with the old gang – Antonio Perugini (drums) and Fabrizio Gramellini (bass) – to record a new Satellite Inn record. After a string of successful dates, a chance rediscovery of unreleased songs produced by Willard Grant Conspiracy’s late frontman Robert Fisher inspired the band anew, resulting in this year’s From Nowhere Revisited, an often bleak, always heartfelt work, dedicated to his memory. Closing the circle, the album is released through former Richmond Fontaine and now The Delines' label, El Cortez Records.
