GEORGE ST. CLAIR
LITTLE RED ROOSTER STAGE

Drawing on the lyricism of Texas songwriters and carried by 1970s country-rock sounds, George St Clair’s songs are natural and direct. People won’t stop comparing him to Jackson Browne, so there must be something to that. Raised in west Texas, George began as a songwriter in Austin. Life took him to Mexico, Peru and Brazil for long periods, where his musical palette grew. An academic background in anthropology led him to do a PhD in London, where he wrote and performed for over a decade. His music reflects the sounds and stories of his homeland, as well as those from his own eclectic life and others he has witnessed. Songs take you many places - the US-Mexico borderlands, historical conflicts over native American land, and deep within the emotions we all feel. Releases include the 2016 EP Tularosa, the 2018 LP Ballads of Captivity and Freedom, and the 2020 LP Do You Feel Strange?. George is back now recording his third LP, and playing shows in the UK, the USA and Europe. He is really looking forward to returning to the Red Rooster Festival this May in Cambridgeshire.
