ACANTHA LANG

ACANTHA LANG

With deep Southern roots and a sound shaped by her New Orleans heritage, London-based soul powerhouse Acantha Lang has earned comparisons to icons like Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight for her commanding vocals and soul-stirring delivery. Her debut album, Beautiful Dreams, made waves in 2023, climbing to #3 on the Official UK Jazz & Blues Albums Chart and earning top-tier praise, including 5 stars from Echoes Magazine and acclaim from Soul Bag (France). She’s been featured in Relix, American Songwriter, KCRW, and appeared on the covers of Blues & Soul and Echoes magazines. BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles called her “brilliant… destined for world domination,” while Blues & Soul magazine hailed her as “a soul singer of the highest order.”

Lang’s live performances have taken her throughout the US and Europe, from her U.S. TV debut on CBS Saturday Morning and a standout appearance at SXSW (Austin) to Jazz Cafe (London), Melkweg (Amsterdam), Bizz’Art (Paris), and the House of Blues in her hometown of New Orleans where she shared the stage with The New Mastersounds and earned praise from Anderson .Paak. She has also played multiple sold out shows across Spain and the Canary Islands, and quickly developed a passionate following there. She was recently invited as a special guest with the Memphis Soul Revue at London’s Barbican, where she performed alongside the Queen of Memphis Soul Carla Thomas, GRAMMY®-winning producer Boo Mitchell, and members of Al Green’s legendary band.

Her debut EP Sugar Woman earned her the 2021 Soul Tracks Readers’ Choice Award for New Artist of the Year, and her viral Standing On The Shoulders Ofseries celebrating soul legends has grown to over 100,000 TikTok followers and 18 million views online. A GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter (for her work with Robert Randolph & The Family Band), Lang has garnered over 6 million streams and landed on major Spotify playlists like All Funked Up, Best Retro Soul Songs, and Best Funk Songs. She was also featured in the GRAMMY® ReImagined cover series and is a proud Recording Academy member. Acantha is currently writing her second album, set for release in 2026.
