First run of acts announced for Red Rooster 2018!

Dec 14th, 2017

Dearest Roosters,

Whilst the snow for many of us is beginning to settle, we thought we’d keep you nice and warm with a little aperitif before the Christmas break… a taste of the music we have in store for you in 2018…

Red Rooster is very excited to announce our Friday night headliner. Raised in Illinois and now based in St. Louis, Missouri, Red Rooster welcomes the incredible sounds of Pokey Lafarge.

Lafarge’s musical mix of western swing, traditional country, ragtime and jazz, is wrapped around lyrics that are nothing short of short stories from a Midwestern perspective.

Alabama 3 acoustic will be headlining the Thursday night, getting the party started with their mix of blues, gospel and country. Larry Love's gravelly ash-stained vocals and Nick Reynolds bank robber melodies on harmonica provide a raucous show. Best known for their theme tune to hit US TV series “The Sopranos.”

Joining Pokey on our first run of acts are Red Rooster favourites Daddy Long Legs.  New York City's most beloved blues bashers have been huffing and puffing and blowing houses down on a nightly basis on their infinite world tour and always bring an elevated level of rough and ready intensity to contemporary lo-fi blues.

Whilst we’re on New York, we’re bringing over NYC’s hottest late-night underground night - Jonathan Toubin and his New York Night Train Soul Clap & Dance Off. Culled from an endless array of long-forgotten Sixties soul singles, Soul Clap is pure musical dynamite and will keep the records spinning and the boys & girls swingin’ at Red Rooster till the early hours..

Austin, Texas based songwriters Brennen Leigh and Noel McKay are coming along with their craft story songs with equal measures of heart. The Austin-based songwriters’ debut collaboration spotlights these celebrated troubadours in peak form (“Before We Come to Our Senses”). “These are modern day country duets à la George Jones and Melba Montgomery.”

Born into a world of creativity, the daughter of renowned artist Olivier O, Sarah Olivier brings an explosion of Chanson, Rock 'N' Roll & Blues, straight from Paris – One of France’s top rising stars.

Northern Ireland’s The Bonnevilles will be bringing their heavy licks and head-knockin’ back beats to Euston Hall. They don't so much play punk blues as use it as a spring board to create a completely new genre.

London’s brilliantly quirky duo Worry Dolls, having supported Joan Armatrading and received praise from Paul McCartney, will be serenading us with their sublime harmonies and tongue-in-cheek, honest lyrics.

The five piece all female led group Dana Immanuel & the Stolen Band join us with their bourbon soaked alt-country eccentricity, whilst 4D Jones are checking in at Euston Hall, tearing up the Rhythm & Blues rule book for many decades and showing no sign of settling down anytime soon.
